Who is the Commission of the Long Valley Fire Protection District?

The commission consists of five individuals. Each individual is elected and a resident of the Long Valley Fire Protection District. Each commissioner serves a four year term and has the option of re-running after each term.

What does the Long Valley Fire Protection District Commissioners do?

The goal of the Long Valley Fire Protection District Commission is to assist the fire department in safeguarding both persons and property from fire and life safety hazards through by conducting administrative oversight, and budget review. The Commission meets once a month on the second Wednesday of each and every month at 7:00 pm at the Long Valley Fire Department.

The commission will also have additional meetings as needed to assist the fire department in completing its goals. At each of the meetings the commission hears from the chief and the volunteers as well as the community members who attend. They also review past and future projects, plans, goals, and budget items for the fire department.

Community input is extremely important and all of the commissioners strongly encourage members of the community to attend each and every meeting.
