Portion of highway 395 is being dedicated to Vidar Anderson a Long Valley Firefighter who risked his life and ultimately losing it trying to save teenagers from Camp O’Neal who ventured out onto a frozen Convict Lake on February 19, 1990. The ice was thin and could not support the teenagers, counselors and rescuers. All had perished.
